I did a quick visit to the site of the cogon infestation that was reported in Colorado in 2023.

The original article in 2023:

Cogon in Colorado: An Alarming Case of Natural Reversion from the Ornamental Variety

Two years after being reported and treated, the infestation of cogon still managed to show itself. It looks like the cogon located outside the bushes was treated (and replaced with turf grass – so some rhizomes may still be lurking underneath and pushing culms that are being trimmed), but the invasive rhizomes were already in the shrub to the right.

Granted, there was less of the cogon in evidence, but perhaps Colorado should consider the nuke option, when it comes to this invasive species, as Florida does.
